Responsibilities
- Manage access control for employees and visitors.
- Issue and collect permits upon entry and exit.
- Escort visitors from reception to their hosts.
- Operate walkthrough detection systems to prevent weapons or prohibited items from entering.
- Ensure private firearms are stored securely.
- Screen baggage through X-ray equipment and prevent unauthorized items from entering the premises.
- Record all private property brought into the building and verify permits for assets leaving the premises.
- Provide statistical reports on access control.
- Monitor electronic security systems and respond to irregularities.
- Dispatch patrolling officers in case of breaches.
- Record all security incidents and responses.
- Test fire equipment and communication systems at the start and end of shifts.
- Act as the communication hub for the security department.
- Set access doors to emergency mode when required.
- Activate armed response in duress situations.
- Provide statistical reports on control room activities.
- Conduct routine inspections inside and outside the building.
- Record security breaches, remove vulnerable assets, and ensure safe custody.
- Inspect perimeter fencing, fire equipment, and electronic systems.
- Carry out vehicular searches when required.
- Support emergency drills, evacuation, and escort duties.
- Provide security services during internal and external events.
- Monitor, investigate, and report all incidents or breaches.
Qualifications & Requirements
- PSIRA Grade C accredited certificate (essential).
- National Certificate in Security Management (advantageous).
- Knowledge of Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicle Act.
- Familiarity with relevant security-related legislation.
- Good planning, organizing, and coordination skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure.
